Special Project Underway: Developing High Performing Teams
This innovative project follows the highly successful school leadership program conducted at the Bastow Institute that revealed how leadership capacity and effectiveness can be positively impacted by a blended, professional development program, The High Performance Mindset at Work (HPMW), developed by Michael Bernard (see http://workmindset.com.au/issues/BG_enews_Issue02/).
The present project seeks to:
1. Replicate findings that leaders’ capacity and effectiveness can be increased through participation in the HPMW leadership course that focuses on developing self-awareness and strengthening of the elements of the high performance mindset
2. Evaluate ‘best practices’ that leaders can use to influence the mindset and performance of members of their leadership teams.
The HPMW Team Leadership Program that combines classroom learning, and blended on-line E-learning plus webinards consists of two parts:
Part 1. Leaders will participate in a 6-session HPMW course designed to develop their awareness of the high performance capability framework and mindset and develop self-awareness and strategies for strengthening their own (and others) mindset.
Part 2. Leaders will participate in a four-session, HPMW course designed to provide them with skills including types of conversations they can have with members of their leadership team designed to develop their mindset in order to more effectively collaborate in teams and to respond positively to tough work situations.
This project commenced in September and will be completed early in 2015. A report will be made available following the completion of the project.
